My Story
The name and drive behind August 5ifth is stemmed from my beautiful magical brother Matthew; his birthdate being August 5th, 1994.
When Mattie was just a little tike, he endured the adverse effects of a vaccine which led him to lose half of his brain and gain full paralysis of his body.
Mattie was the most magical being and the center sun of my family, he would have turned 31 years this past year ! I am so insanely proud of how far he made it in his life and i know he really is happier in his whimsical new life guiding what im holding for him here with 'August 5ifth' as well as my daily movements, connections, creations, and thoughts in life.
From this shift in my perspective on how easily our bodies can be swept from beneath us,
It’s become my mission to endure all aspects of creativity, movement, emotions, learning, teaching, growth, love, fear, and endure life with passion and presence.
We all experience vastly different worlds inside, maybe give yourself the permission to share it; and to pursue the creativity that each of us hold within and express it as if that is what we were put forth to do.
With continual curiosity, gravitation towards new projects, habits, and routes of creating,
Each item is slowly made through a traditional craftsmanship process in my very own factory (my bedroom or my lovely parents garage) which I have been working on a variety of items all obtaining second-hand materials and textiles to add a touch of sustainability to help our mama Earth.
Cheers to the continual journey of creation that is life,
August 5ifth

about Cat
Coastal grown and soul-rooted, I’ve always been drawn to what’s real. Living in a town where people vacation has taught me the value of being a local — of noticing the quiet, everyday beauty that tourists often miss. That perspective shaped me: I crave pure connection, pure craftsmanship, and honest creativity.
Yoga changed my life — not just as a practice, but as a way of being. It taught me to slow down, to see clearly, to choose intentionally. It made me aware of what’s real and what’s not — in myself, in others, in the world. That stillness opened a craving in me for authenticity in all forms — in how I move, eat, connect, create, and travel.
I’m drawn to purity — not perfection, but intention. I care deeply about how things are made and where they come from — whether it's a meal, a handmade object, or a story. Creativity, to me, is simply sharing your inner world outwardly. It’s honest expression, and the real magic is when it sparks something in someone else.
Travel feeds my spirit. I love to experience places from the inside out — to blend in, listen, taste, and live like a local. That’s how I grew up, and it’s how I continue to explore — with curiosity, respect, and a desire to feel the rhythm of a place rather than just pass through it.
In everything I do, I’m seeking what’s pure, what’s intentional, and what’s true. The rest can fall away.

purely & lovingly, Cat
